What We Value - All Lives Matter to God & Us

Thank you for joining us as we begin a new series for summer 2021. This series is based on 10 things we at First Christian Church value. Today's value is, ALL LIVES MATTER TO GOD SO THEY MATTER TO US.

Before the message begins, join us for praise, communion and other Sunday activities.

Message: Values = things with relative worth, or importance; an ideal to consider or rate highly. To prize and esteem. Worldly values include wealth, power, pleasure, revenge, fame, vanity, and status. These are the most important things to people who perceive no power or purpose beyond themselves. Worldly values promote jealousies, resentments, and conflicts among people.

The values taught in the Bible are mostly the opposite of worldly values: kindness and respect for all people instead of power; humility instead of status; honesty and generosity instead of wealth; self-control instead of self-indulgence; forgiveness instead of revenge. Christian values promote peace and good will among people in accordance with the purposes of God.

As Christians, we have our own personal values and because we are Christians… we will have many of these in common. Therefore, in our unity… our individual values over the years have made up our church values. For the most part these values remain unstated, even though they make up our framework and are biblical ideals we hold in esteem. Because we do not talk about them, I thought it would be good for us to walk through them this summer. Naming the ideals we value, explaining them, and considering why these values are important to God and how they became to be important to us.

This morning, our first value we speak of often, but not intentionally. We say things like “God created all mankind for His purpose… or He wants all saved… therefore all people matter to God.” This gives us our marching orders to go and proclaim the gospel. Telling people about Jesus who haven’t met Him yet. But to really place value on “all lives matter to God”

Please listen to this very important message and God bless.
